Buyer’s Remorse No More!

Here at Monasterevin Motors, we recently launched a ‘Try Before You Buy’ campaign in a bid to promote the benefits of buying a used car from a trusted local dealership.

This initiative comes off the back of a recent survey that highlighted the purchase of a car as the most common cause of buyer’s remorse. Some of the reasons mentioned were the car being unsuitable for their needs, not being as economical as they thought, or just not liking the car when they took it home.

The campaign was launched after looking at current used car purchasing trends. We noticed that there was an increase in the number of customers buying from the UK or private sales as they perceived them to be better value. The problem with these types of sales is that you only get a quick test drive down the road, or in some cases you don’t get to test drive it at all. This makes it difficult to determine if it’s the right car for you.

We wanted to look at a more customer focused approach and we felt that in order to see if a car is the right car for your needs, you need to take it home, see it in the driveway, load the family up and take a proper spin.

Our customers are our key focus and we want to make sure that they are happy when they buy a car from us. We have an excellent reputation for customer service and the fact that we are over 60 years in business is testament to that. The fact that we are local should appeal to many people as we’re nearby should an issue arise. It can be a lot more tricky to deal with these issues if you import from the UK or with a private sale. We are very competitive on prices and all our cars are rigorously tested before they are put on sale, so we felt that offering customers the car to try for 24 hours made sense.

The campaign is now running at Monasterevin Motors and customers are asked to book an appointment in advance. We’re open until 7pm weeknights and until 5pm on Saturday. If these hours don’t suit, it’s also possible to arrange an after-hours appointment. Please book in advance on 045-525 255.
